Acne Treatment

Acne is a term used to refer to breakouts and blemishes on the skin. Whilst it is a very common skin condition amongst both men and women of all ages, it is usually at its worst during the teenage years as hormones change. Acne can vary in severity and may lead to blackheads, whiteheads, and red lumps (also known as papules).

What causes acne?

Acne can be caused by numerous factors including hormones and sometimes even genetics. The condition most commonly affects areas where there are larger oil glands such as your face, neck back. Through external factors, skincare, makeup, and general oil production, the pores in these areas become blocked, so oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria become trapped within the pore, resulting in a breakout.

Unfortunately, some acne can leave scarring on the skin which can have a negative impact on your overall self-confidence. Luckily there are several treatment solutions available to help you address your acne and help target the pigmentation that may be left behind.

Acne Treatment

When looking at acne treatment, it’s always worth seeking the help of a trained professional who will be able to assess your condition, identify any potential triggers and advise you on the best treatment solution that will work for you.

From specific skincare routines to mesotherapy, and chemical peels, there are plenty of solutions available to you. Here at Skin NV, we believe a combination of treatments is the most effective method in acne treatment to penetrate the skin, target scarring, and help manage the condition in the future.

We have created a bespoke, Skin NV Acne & Acne Scarring Package to ensure your skin receives exactly what it needs at that time. Each treatment targets a different concern, whether it’s active acne, scarring, or pigmentation, there is a step specially designed to treat it, so you can control your breakouts and achieve even-toned, healthy skin.

The package includes six treatments. During your initial consultation, your aesthetic doctor will assess your skin, and recommend a treatment, or combination of treatments from below.

Chemical exfoliation treatments – helps exfoliate the skin, remove dead skin cells and draw acne-causing bacteria and sebum from the pores.

Collagen Induction Therapy – Collagen is a vital protein found within the skin. This treatment effectively stimulates new collagen production within the skin to improve overall skin quality.

Micro-infusion treatments – Micro-infusion treatments deliver a targeted combination of active ingredients and vitamins to the skin to promote skin health from within.
