Hi all,

I hope you are all well!

Normal skin is a confusing term! It means a little bit of everything!
So how on earth do you care for normal skin?

Our skin types are essential for knowing what products and treatments will suit our skin well. Knowing this, will also help us stay clear of products and treatments that can exacerbate the oily-ness and dryness!

There are 4 general skin types:

1) Normal
2) Combination
3) Dry
4) Oily

Normal or Eudermic skin is well-balanced and what this means is the balance between your natural skin oils and hydration from water consumption is balanced. When you have too much oil/sebum or too little water hydration then the balanced is skewed towards oily or dry.
So visibly, you may have a mildly oily T zone and drier other aspects of the face but not extreme. Your skin will also change according to the weather and lifestyle as it has a natural talent for balancing the two types of moisture it needs, to protect your skin.

So what can you do to manage your Normal skin?

This type of skin can be as simple and as confusing as you make it but ultimately you need to:

  • Cleanse twice daily using lukewarm water, a gentle exfoliating cleanser, and a soft towel to pat dry your skin. Avoid hot water as this can dry out the skin.
  • Use protective anti-oxidant serums
  • Use a light, oil-free, non-comedogenic moisturiser regularly
  • Use broad-spectrum sunscreen every day .
  • Consider using a regenerative night cream.

  • Your skin will change as the environmental and lifestyle factors change and so your skin regime will need to as well. As a result, it’s always best to be prepared and read my previous blogs on how to tackle other skin types.
  • With regards to treatments, Chemical Exfoliation treatments or chemical peels will always optimise your skincare efficacy and improve your skin health.

So that’s all from me folks!
