Microneedling For Beard Growth

Microneedling treatment is a safe and effective solution for beard hair loss, also known as alopecia barbae. During the treatment, tiny needles are used to stimulate the production of collagen and increase blood flow, which encourages hair regrowth. This process also releases growth factors that regenerate hair follicles and nourish hair proteins, resulting in a fuller and healthier beard. Microneedling is suitable for those experiencing general hair loss or hair thinning in the beard area.

Our experienced team is here to support you throughout your treatment journey.

How Does Microneedling Work For Beard Loss Patches?

During a microneedling treatment for beard hair loss, a pen-like device is used to create micro-injuries on the affected skin. This process stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, which strengthens hair follicles and encourages new hair growth.

The device is adjusted to the appropriate needle depth for the treated area, allowing for precise and effective treatment. With increased density of hair fibres, the previously bald patches in the beard area become covered.

Why choose skin NV

Professional skin care solutions from a qualified doctor.

Step-by-step procedure

1.

Prior To The Treatment

During your consultation with Dr Verma, she will take the time to understand the possible causes of your hair loss or thinning and work with you to find lifestyle and homecare solutions to address your concerns. If a medical condition is the underlying cause, Dr Verma will guide you on how to address it to prevent further hair loss, while treatments are required to help regrow your lost hair. We strive to create a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere throughout your journey with us.

2.

During The Treatment

During the microneedling treatment, your skin will be gently numbed with a topical cream to ensure your utmost comfort. The microneedling device will then be used to delicately stimulate hair follicles, promoting improved nutrient and oxygen flow to the treatment area. The best part? This gentle stimulation won't affect your surrounding hair and can actually help to strengthen and improve the quality of your hair fibres. To enhance the treatment's results, a nourishing growth factor solution will be carefully applied to the treated area. So sit back, relax and let us handle this!

3.

What To Expect

Redness, mild tenderness and pinpoint bleeding spots are expected due to the increased blood flow objective and will resolve within 2-3 days. Your skin will feel hydrated and may even feel tight for a few days post-treatment however this means the treatment is working. You may notice small hairs growing in the treated area approximately 2 months after treatment and they will continue to grow over the next few months. According to the extent of hair loss, you may be advised to consider further treatments to achieve the optimal result.

4.

Aftercare

Dr. Verma recommends taking gentle care of the treated area after the microneedling treatment. To avoid infection, it is advisable not to touch the treated area for 24 hours and to refrain from exposing it to saunas, swimming, sunbeds, or other facial treatments for 48 hours. Additionally, using sunscreen during the day and gentle skincare can help prevent post-treatment side effects such as hyperpigmentation. By following these simple steps, you can enjoy the full benefits of your microneedling treatment with confidence.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Do Beard Hair Loss Patches Appear?

Beard hair loss most often manifests very suddenly. Typically, beard hair is lost in small circular patches, though this can be much larger. Itchiness, redness, and irritation can sometimes affect the skin at the site where hair has been lost.

The condition affects any male old enough to produce facial hair. In some cases, the condition isn’t always permanent, though it is common for it to have an intermittent impact over the course of a few years.

Hair thinning as a result of ageing or oxidative stress can also be treated with Microneedling.

How Long Until I See Results?

The recommended course is one treatment per week for 4-6 weeks. Treatments every 12 weeks are recommended to maintain the results.

Can I Do Microneedling Myself At Home?

You should always visit a reputable clinic for Microneedling treatment to avoid the risk of infection. Using the incorrect needle depth on your skin could also cause discomfort and injury to the skin. Dr Verma is experienced at performing both skincare Microneedling and Microneedling for hair rejuvenation across the beard and scalp areas. A medical professional should always perform any treatment inducing a wound response in a clinical setting.
