Hi guys,

So Halloween is here!!!

Now, I know there isn’t much that can be done to celebrate but there’s no reason why you can’t still get dressed up and watch a horror movie or have a Zoom Halloween party!

A huge part of Halloween is the make-up and I have been seeing some serious talent of make-up artists over the last few weeks! The transformations are amazing! I wish I had that talent but the most I do is apply a white face mask and black eyeshadow around my eyes! And if if I’m feeling particularly creative, I’ll add a wound  sticker/tattoo or some blood-like dribbles! Terrible right?!

Now ALL that heavy make-up, how do you remove the make up? How do you pamper and treat your skin post-Halloween?

Everyone focuses on the pre-Halloween and during Halloween but post-Halloween is equally as important!

So here are 5 easy steps to care for your skin when the party is over:

1) Use Micellar water to remove the make-up from your skin.

Micellar water is formulated to remove waterproof make-up without the need for harsh cleansers or vigorous cleaning. It’s a gentle way of removing those bold waterproof colours. I use Bioderma Sensibio H20 Micellar water and highly recommend it for all skin types as it does not irritate the skin and does not leave behind a greasy/oily residue. Don’t forget your neck and your ears!!

2) Now use a Clarifying cleanser to clean your skin.

A clarifying cleanser will unclog pores and remove any impurities. It is best to double cleanse to ensure that all the make-up has been removed. I prefer a foaming cleanser that purifies my skin but doesn’t dry it out. I use Obagi CLENZIderm foaming cleanser which I love!

3) Now it’s all about the hydration! Hydrate that skin!

This could be a sheet mask or a hydrating moisturiser or even a facial oil! It depends on your skin type but I love pHformula Vita A Rejuvenating mask and Obagi Hydro-drops to take hydration of my skin to a whole new level!

4) Let’s talk about those eyes!

I’m sure you made some statements with that eye –make up! But now let’s show the delicate skin around your eyes some love! Many eye shadows and eyeliners can draw out moisture from the skin and as a result the skin may be sensitive and dry as a result. Let’s bring back the water! I particularly love Skinbetter Science InterFuse Eye treatment cream for my eyes!

5) And finally those lips!

Your lipsticks, glosses particularly long-staying ones draw out A LOT of moisture from your lips! Give your lips some TLC with a lip mask, such as Laneige Lip sleeping mask or a hydrating lip balm! I often use my facial moisturiser/oil on my lips too; that’s multi-tasking for you!

Please remember to speak to a specialist to make sure you are using the correct products for your own skin!

What skincare tips do you have? Anything that you truly recommend?
