Hi Everyone!
I hope you are all well and safe!
Did you know that only 7% of your skincare is absorbed by your skin?!
How much skincare product are you wasting! How much money are you wasting!
Did you know you can increase this absorption to 80% by doing one simple step at home?
No? Read on!
So…..
The skin is the most exposed organ, and that means that it has it’s fair share of trauma!
Everyday the skin is exposed to harmful ultraviolet rays, changes in climate, pollutants and numerous other elements that cause damage, which you can see as dark circles, pigmented patches/areas, lines, wrinkles, loss of glow, sagging skin and much more!
Some of these concerns are present in the top most layer of your skin, which consists of dead skin cells!
So, removing these top layers of dead skin cells would help remove or reduce those pigmentated area or lines and wrinkles?!
Our bodies try to do this naturally but this process slows down as we age. Enter lines and wrinkles!
Chemical peels boost our bodies’ ability to do this at a faster (more noticeable) rate!
I have to admit that I am not keen on the term “peel”, as a result of a client asking me, “how many layers of my skin will you be peeling off ? ” More often than not you WILL NOT peel, therefore I have adopted an alternative name, Chemical exfoliation.
So you may be reading this term more often in my future blogs!
Chemical exfoliation agents are derived from natural sources eg. sugarcane, apples, citric fruit, milk etc but they have been formulated in a way that is absorbed better by the skin. It is for this reason they have to fit into the category of “chemicals”.
So how does chemical exfoliation work?
The top layer of skin, stratum corneum, comprises of dead skin cells that are bonded to the healthy layers beneath them. Chemical peels work by dissolving these bonds, separating the layers. So the dead skin cells just flake away! This exfoliation process encourages the formation of beautiful, plump health skin cells to be produced!
How does your skin improve by using chemical exfoliation treatments?
- Reduction of fine lines & wrinkles
- Reduction of pigmentation & discoloration
- Increased collagen production
- Reduction of acne scarring & blemishes
- Sun damage reversal
- Improved skin texture
- Smooths out rough skin and scaly patches
- Increases the appearance of firmness and taut skin
So that’s all from me folks!
