“I've tried everything but my hair keeps falling!”
I hear this distressful concern almost 4-5 times a week! I know how frustrating this condition can be!
I started to lose my hair very rapidly when I was 3 months post-partum. I saw piles of my hair on every surface; my floor, sofas, beds, EVERYWHERE!
This was when my passion for Hair Loss treatments grew.
If these solutions can work for me, then they can work for you too!
Firstly we have to know what we are dealing with!
So what is hair loss?
Hair loss can present in many ways:
- Scalp exposure
- Widened partings
- Balding
- Receeding Hair Lines
- and hair breakage

Hair can fall from the roots (from the scalp skin) where you see enlarged foreheads or scalp exposure; or the hair fibres can break midway such that there is little scalp exposure but the hair ends become thinner and less voluminous.
Ultimately hair loss is caused by an unhappy scalp which is then not providing for the hair follicles. So what factors can cause an unhappy scalp?
Why does hair loss happen?
Hair loss, balding and hair thinning have MANY causes:
- Stress
- Traumatic hair pulling (read my blog about how towel drying can be traumatic)
- Damaging haircare such as tight hairstyles,
- Health conditions and medicine side effects
- Vitamin and Mineral deficiencies
- Hereditary causes
- Hormonal changes eg. Post-partum hair loss.
I suffered from post-partum hair loss and used the medical-grade treatments I now offer to fully recover from this condition.
All of these concerns can affect the health of the scalp skin and cause damage to the hair follicles . So how can you address these factors to help your hair follicles thrive and grow the healthy luscious hair you really want!
What should I do before considering/receiving hair loss treatments?
I am a firm believer that a holistic approach is required to achieve optimal results for your skin and hair, and highly recommend:
- Good nutrition and clinically-proven supplements.
- Improved homecare which included regularly hair massages, reduced use of heat devices and styling and hair accessories that do not cause breakage of hair.
- I also suggests all my hair loss clients to request for a blood test with their GP to confirm that the cause of hair loss is not due to a medical condition or vitamin deficiency.
These modifications and prevent the progression of hair loss whilst the in-clinic hair loss treatment will stimulate any dormant hair follicles, improve blood flow to the scalp and stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, i.e. good quality hair fibres.
If you have any other questions to add to this list, please let me know in the comments!
"Hair loss is never a problem, until it happens to you."
Choosing the right medical professional is the MOST important decision you need to make, regardless of which treatment solution you opt for.
I really hope this is useful and I would always strongly recommend choosing a medical practitioner that you find reassuring and approachable.
As always,
Prioritise yourselves!
